Welcome swim fans! I’m Fares Ksebati, and I’m coming to you live from the heart of Indianapolis, Indiana, where the USA Olympic swimming trials are in full swing. With an incredible custom-built swimming pool built in a professional football stadium, this venue is insane!
But that’s not all – the US Masters Swimming National Championships are also happening at the iconic IU Natatorium at IUPUI.
I’ve competed in seven events – four individual and three relays – and each race has been a thrilling challenge. It was even more fun to swim with some MySwimPro team mates, as our company traveled here to compete in the meet together!
This week has been nothing short of monumental for the world of swimming. Grab some popcorn, sit back, and let’s dive into the biggest week in swimming EVER! Check out my video with my favorite highlights:
US Masters Nationals Thrills
The atmosphere here is electric. Indianapolis has embraced the Olympic trials and the US Masters Swimming National Championship with open arms, transforming the city into a festive celebration of all things swimming.
My friends, colleagues and I had an unforgettable time at Nationals. Plus, we sponsored some amazing athletes who had stellar performances in the pool. Check out some of our squad!

This masters meet is special not just for its competitive spirit but also for the camaraderie among swimmers of all ages and abilities.
The IU Natatorium is a historic pool where legends like Michael Phelps made their first Olympic teams, and it’s buzzing with energy.
Unforgettable Relays and Personal Bests
We kicked off the week with the 50 breaststroke. My best time in this event is 26.6 seconds, and I was ready to give it my all. Despite a slow start, I pulled off a 26.55 – a personal record!
The energy in the pool was palpable, and it felt incredible to share that moment with fellow swimmers and fans alike.
My teammate (and MySwimPro VP of Engineering) Nick Newell had his first-ever swimming competition and nailed a personal best in the 100 freestyle, hitting exactly 1:11 as I predicted.
The joy and excitement of achieving personal records, whether by a fraction of a second or a huge margin, is what makes this sport so exhilarating!
Plus, Nick trained exclusively with the MySwimPro app for the past two years. It is always inspiring to see swimmers find success with our personalized training plans in the app!
Kaylie Noll (our Social Media Manager) competed in her first swim meet since her college career.
She did amazing! She fell back in the love with competing, and still holds our MySwimPro Distance Queen award. She also has been training with the MySwimPro 2-3x per week.
The workouts in the app have really helped her stay on track with her goals, and manage a busy schedule when she doesn’t have time to write her own training program.
I also really enjoyed watching our CTO Adam Oxner crush his events.
I’ve been training with working with Adam on all things MySwimPro for over eight years, and to see him swim so fast at this meet was so much fun.
George Tibbles, our Video Editor, had a very exciting breakthrough performance. His first swim meet in years! He has been training with the MySwimPro app for a year now, and wow has he seen some major progress.
I loved watching the thrill of his race, way to go George!

Relays are always a highlight, and this week was no exception. In the 200 freestyle relay, my teammates and I gave it our all, clocking some of our best times ever.
I managed a 21.9 in the 50 freestyle, a time I’m incredibly proud of. The atmosphere was electric, with everyone cheering and pushing each other to new heights.
One of my favorite events is the 100 IM – a fast and furious mix of fly, back, breast, and free. I managed to clock a 55.5, just shy of my personal best. The thrill of racing in such a prestigious pool, surrounded by history and fellow swim enthusiasts, is a feeling like no other.
Watching Trials In a Suite
In addition to competing at Nationals, each night we walk over to the Lucas Oil football stadium and get to watch the world’s fastest swimmers compete in the coolest swimming venue I have ever seen. Check out our team watching from our box suite!
Final Races and Reflections
As the week wrapped up, I reflected on the incredible performances, the personal bests, and the shared experiences. The 100 breaststroke was a highlight for me, clocking a 58.6 – a new personal best! Competing at the IU Natatorium, where so many legends have swum, adds a layer of magic to every race.
The relays were especially thrilling. In the mixed medley relay, I pulled off a 25.4 split in the 50 breaststroke, my fastest time ever. Racing alongside my teammates, feeling the collective drive to push harder and swim faster, is what makes these events so special.
A Week to Remember
This has been an incredible week of swimming – from the Olympic trials to the US Masters Nationals, every moment has been filled with excitement, joy, and a deep love for the sport. Whether it’s achieving a personal best, cheering on a teammate, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, this week has been unforgettable.
As we wrap up, I want to give a shoutout to all the MySwimPro community members breaking records and achieving personal bests. And a special congratulations to Nick for his stellar performances in his first national swim meet.
Swimming is on the up and up, and I’m thrilled to be part of this amazing journey. Until next time, happy swimming
